Reactor Repair Between Batch Runs
Asset Protection Through Efficient Reactor Repair
In high demand production environments, minimizing downtime is essential. Protecting assets often means performing necessary repairs quickly and correctly without disrupting operations. A recent reactor repair project demonstrates how strategic intervention can restore performance between batch runs.
Glasslined Technologies™ was tasked with repairing a damaged 4,000-gallon reactor during a short production window. The timing required careful planning and precise execution to ensure the reactor could return to service without delaying operations.
During the repair, the proring, manway cover, and gaskets were replaced to restore proper sealing and reliability. An initial inspection also identified several small, damaged areas within the reactor. To address these concerns, three-piece repair plugs were installed, preventing future degradation and maintaining the integrity of the glass lined surface.
Additionally, the bottom outlet nozzle required the installation of an inside outside sleeve. This repair restored durability in a high stress area and ensured continued safe operation. All work was completed efficiently, allowing the reactor to return to production as planned
This project highlights the importance of inspections, rapid response repairs, and having experienced support available when it matters most. Addressing damage early protects assets, extends equipment life, and reduces the risk of unplanned outages that impact productivity and safety.
