How Permanent Glasslined Repairs Are Changing the Game for Chemical Processing
In chemical processing, reliability is everything. For decades, operators and engineers have relied on glass-lined equipment to handle aggressive chemicals at high temperatures. When that glass lining chips or fails, the fix has often been temporary, costly, and time-consuming. At Glasslined Technologies Inc. (GTI), we knew there had to be a better way.
After more than a decade of in-house research and rigorous testing, we’ve introduced our patented Permanent Glasslined Repair Technology, Patent No: US 9,675,999 B1. This innovative development offers permanent repairs to glass-lined accessories and vessels. Items can be repaired vs re-glass or replacement at significant savings and reduced turnaround time.
How does it work? The technology combines advanced surface prep, proprietary bonding techniques, and thorough testing to ensure the repair becomes a true part of the equipment, not just a patch sitting on top.
We’ve proven our results through:
· Non-destructive evaluation (NDE) methods include the Spark test, glass thickness analysis, and adhesion testing.
· ASTM B08.12 standard testing corrosion and thermal shock tests and abrasion testing under real-world conditions.
· ASTM B916-01 standard testing the adherence of porcelain enamel to sheet metal.
· ASTM C537-87 standard testing the determination of the reliability of glass coating on metal and is intended for use by manufacturers of equipment that is designed to withstand highly corrosive conditions
In an industry where a few hours of downtime can cost thousands, a truly permanent repair means peace of mind and better asset performance for years to come.
