Celebrating Excellence and Workforce Leadership: Glasslined Technologies’TM James Lakeman Speaks at Augusta Technical College Den of Distinction Celebration

Glasslined Technologies’ TM Founder, James Lakeman, was invited to speak at the 2025 Den of Distinction Celebration hosted by Augusta Technical College on October 24, 2025.

The event honored a new class of distinguished alumni—professionals whose careers reflect the transformative impact of technical education, applied skills, and community leadership.

The Den of Distinction, established in 2021 to commemorate the college’s 60th anniversary, celebrates alumni who demonstrate excellence in innovation, workforce development, and community engagement.

Augusta Technical College’s vision is to be a nationally recognized institution that transforms lives, organizations, and communities through excellence, innovation, and partnership. Its alumni play a vital role in advancing this mission by contributing skilled talent and leadership to regional industries.

James highlighted this during his remarks, speaking on behalf of fellow honorees and emphasizing the role that technical education plays in producing capable, adaptable professionals who drive long-term progress across sectors.

As part of the program, James helped honor this year’s inductees and introduced fellow 2024 Den of Distinction members Maria Cook and Michael Violette:

·      Maria Cook – a public servant supporting community engagement and legislative initiatives in the U.S. Senate.

·      Michael Violette – a workforce leader in industrial operations, managing development for a 600-person division at SRS.

Their stories reflect the diverse impact of technical training on government, industry, and economic development.

By speaking at the event, James represented the significant role industry can play in supporting both skills-based education and career pathways that fuel growth in manufacturing, technology, and service organizations.
